Marsha Spence Henderson (1966) is the Vice President for External Affairs at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to her appointment in 2005, Henderson had been District President of KeyBank Western New York for seven years. A UB alumna, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography in 1973 and also holds a Master in Business Administration from Canisius College.

Widely recognized as a leading member of the Buffalo business community, Marsha has held numerous board appointments in the region. She served as the first woman chair of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Treasurer of the UB Foundation Board, and Director of the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. She has served on the boards of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, the Independent Health Foundation, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kaleida Health Foundation, and the National Women’s Hall of Fame. She is a past president of the 15,000-member Financial Women International and past president of the Buffalo Chapter of the American Institute of Banking.

Prior to her leadership at KeyBank, Marsha served for eight years as senior vice president and marketing manager of Fleet Financial Group's Private Clients Group for Upstate New York, and 18 years with M&T Bank, where she became vice president and manager within the bank's Western New York Commercial Banking Division. Marsha has been honored for her community leadership as recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Canisius College; induction to the Western New York Women’s Hall of Fame; and induction into the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame. In 2004, she was honored as the Niagara Frontier Executive of the Year by the University at Buffalo School of Management, the first woman to receive this prestigious award.
