Jonathan Ralston (‘77)—Jon Ralston is an award-winning journalist and political commentator in Nevada where he writes for the Las Vegas Sun, the In Business Las Vegas, and is editor of The Ralston Report, a statewide political newsletter. Ralston has built a career and reputation as one of the leading voices on local, state and national politics in his adopted home state of Nevada.

After graduating from South High School, he went to Cornell University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and then obtained a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Michigan. He moved to Las Vegas in 1984 where he began his career as a journalist at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Currently, Ralston appears twice a week on the CBS affiliate's newscast offering political commentary. He also hosts a daily television show called, "Face to Face with Jon Ralston" on a cable channel partly owned by the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, featuring national political figures as guests. In addition, he shares his knowledge and well-respected opinions via the Internet, heading a daily email publication called Flash, which provides the very latest on local and state political news. He has also written a book about Nevada politics entitled, “The Anointed One” (1999).
